Nagpur seems to be an emerging IT destination, but there do not seem to many companies setting shop in Nagpur at this point. But with its proximity to major cities in the north, it has enormous potential. Nagpur would have played out better if the North Indian states had a better eductional system. Unfortunately, North Indians seem to be more oriented towards public sector jobs at this point and hence academic standards are yet to catch up. The IT boom should drive a more competitive education setup in these states and that would eventually help put Nagpur in the map.

Regarding the typo at the Nagpur website, I have sent an email to the NIC email listed there as the collector email ids do not seem to work.

Software jobs in Nagpur seem to be picking up. http://in.jobs.yahoo.com/jobs.php?jc=IT-Software&l=nagpur.

Eventually it depends on Nagpur politics and Nagpur alumni to drive the changes in the right direction. The window of opportunity exists right now to get the necessary infrastructure in place so that development can sustain.
