Nagpur seems to be an emerging IT destination, but there do not seem to many companies setting shop in Nagpur at this point. But with its proximity to major cities in the north, it has enormous potential. Nagpur would have played out better if the North Indian states had a better eductional system. Unfortunately, North Indians seem to be more oriented towards public sector jobs at this point and hence academic standards are yet to catch up. The IT boom should drive a more competitive education setup in these states and that would eventually help put Nagpur in the map.
Regarding the typo at the Nagpur website, I have sent an email to the NIC email listed there as the collector email ids do not seem to work.

If you visit the Nagpur official website and click on "History", you will see the following text
1956 A.D. :- On present 'Diksha Bhoomi' Ground, Dr B. R. Ambedkar embrassed Buddhism along with lakhs of his followers.
Talk about the Mother of all typos! Now there's an embrace that's utterly embarrasing! I have sent an email to the collector.
One of the better books that places Babasaheb's thinking in context is "Untouchables" by Narendha Jadhav.
